Truck Freight Index Edged 0.2% Lower in August
In a release form the American Trucking Association, seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index declined 0.2% in August after falling a revised 0.8% in July 2011. July?s decrease was less than the 1.3% as reported just over a month ago. The non-seasonally adjusted index represents the change in tonnage actually hauled by the fleets before any seasonal adjustment and equaled 123.8 in August, 10.9% above the July falloff.
