July Rail Traffic Mixed and Heading Down
Batten down the hatches boys, the storm ahead looks like it?s going to be another rough one. The making of a Continent thanks in large part to the Transcontinental Railroad. It was and even today still is the only way to move goods across vast distances economically. The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported this week mixed results for July monthly rail traffic compared with the same month last year, with U.S. railroads originating 1,111,682 carloads, down 1 percent, and 895,649 trailers and containers, up 1.3 percent.
