Toyota May Sales off a Disheartening 33.4%

More Japan earthquake production limitation fallout. Prius sales of just 6,924 were sideswiped by an earthquake and tsunami last month. Toyota reported May 2011 sales results of 108,387 units, a decrease of 27.9 percent compared to the same period last year on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis. On a raw volume basis, unadjusted for 24 selling days in May 2011 compared to 26 selling days in May 2010, Toyota sales were down 33.4 percent over the year-ago month.
