An 85-year-old Briton has successfully sailed across the Atlantic in a raft made of pipes. Anthony Smith, from London, spent 66 days at sea with three 'mature' crewmates before guiding his 40-ft vessel into a marina on the Caribbean island of St Maarten yesterday. He and his crew, all between 56 and 61, left the Canary Islands in January and said they wanted to prove the older generation can successfully pull off such an adventure and raise money for charity.
