Ford Uses Chocolate to Lose Weight?
Injection of gas during plastic molding creates a cross-section resembling an Aero chocolate bar that reduces weight, improves fuel economy and lowers emissions. Lighter weight plastic parts require less energy and time to manufacture, reducing emissions and cost. An interesting story out of Ford?s UK based PR machine? In Ford?s never-ending quest to reduce weight providing lower emissions and fuel consumption, Ford engineers have taken inspiration from the Aero chocolate bar to produce lighter plastic parts by injecting gas bubbles during manufacturing.
