Defensive Driving - How to avoid Tailgating

The Why's and How to avoid it Who among us likes to be tailgated? I suspect not many will raise their hands and for several good reasons. And... if we were to ask every single member of our community how often we are tailgated I would wager that some would claim this to be a daily problem in their commutes. I for one can make this claim as can many others but despite the implied risks, many of us will continue driving for several years without a major incident. Why?
