Nissan?s Answer to Higher Fuel Costs with Low Up Front Costs

A 1.2L Direct Injected gas engine with a supercharger. 2011 Nissan Micra ? Almost hybrid like FE without the hybrid drivetrain? Nissan?s all-new HR12DDR is a newly developed 1.2L 3-cylinder with direct injection and a supercharger that aims to achieve class-leading fuel economy. Together with friction reduction (-30%) and a high compression ratio of 13:1 to improve combustion efficiency, the small-displacement 1.2-liter engine is "downsized and charged" to aim for power on a par with a 1.5L engine and 56.5 mpgUS combined on the NEDC. It will be offered in the 2011 Micra in Europe.
