Thousands Killed in Aftermath of Japan Earthquake
A devastating blow to an Island Nation of people just like you and I. A magnitude 8.9 earthquake, centered at a depth of six miles, approximately 80 miles off the Eastern Coast of Japan struck at 02:46 PM local time according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This is the biggest earthquake to hit Japan since record-keeping began in the late 1800s and one of the biggest ever recorded in the world. In addition, a significant Tsunami with waves reaching as high as 32' inundated low lying areas of north eastern Japan causing a significant amount of damage and what is assumed to be thousands of fatalities.
