Cargill has signed an agreement with Germany?s SkySails to use wind power technology to reduce GHG emissions in the shipping industry. SkySails, based in Hamburg, developed innovative, patented technology that uses a huge sport parachute shaped kite which flies ahead of the vessel and generates enough propulsion to reduce consumption of bunker fuel [b]by up to 35 percent in ideal sailing conditions[/b]. That is a huge claim for such a small addition.
