Allan Karl and his 2005 BMW F 650 GS Dakar. America?s Independence Day has a special significance for California-based motorcyclist Allan Karl. In 2005, it marked the start of his solo journey around the world, through Northern, Central and South America, then across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The trip was set out on to accomplish his life-long dream, to see the world while combining his passions for motorcycling, writing and photography.
