Moderate Gains in Rail Freight Traffic for Week Ending Aug. 7, 2010
The real ?State of the Economy? from the rail industry?s perspective. The Association of American Railroads reported only moderate gains in rail traffic for the week ending Aug. 7, 2010 with U.S. railroads originating 284,507 carloads for the week, up 3.5 percent compared with the same week in 2009, but still down a worrisome 13 percent from the same week in 2008.
