Safety from Space ? Ford goes to the outer limits

A GPS satellite is part of the worldwide timing and navigation system utilizing 24 satellites positioned in orbit approximately 12,000 miles above the Earth's surface. These satellites continuously transmit digital radio signals pertaining to the exact time and location of the satellites. Ford today announced what they call a groundbreaking research project with partner Auburn University shows that GPS satellites that can "talk" to cars helping to prevent serious accidents in the future.
