GM adding jobs to meet C4C vehicle demand

Production anew for the all-new 2010 Equinox with its new direct injected 2.4L engine helps the compact achieve the highest highway fuel economy rating (32 mpgUS) of [b]ANY[/b] small or large SUV including the much touted Ford Escape Hybrid. Chevrolet expects nearly three-quarters of customers will choose the efficient, 2.4L engine. GM is increasing production at several North America assembly plants in response to increased sales. The company will add shifts, overtime and reinstate forecasted down weeks at select facilities. As a result, GM will build an additional 60,000 vehicles in the third and fourth quarters to ensure a wide selection of cars, crossovers and trucks for future customers.
