Driven by fuel economy needs and the development of clean diesel technology, new life is being breathed into the possibility of diesel powertrains making a comeback in America's light-duty vehicles At last month's North American International Auto Show, at least five major automakers announced plans to market diesel-powered light-duty vehicles in the United States . In addition, Ford Motor Company's Reflex concept car showcased the possibility of a diesel-hybrid powertrain.
