Mack ?ready to go? with SCR

Louisville, KY. ? Unlike International who plans to use EGR exclusively to control NOx for the upcoming EPA 2010 truck emissions specification, Mack truck is taking the Urea injected - selective catalytic reduction (SCR) path. Extensive field testing demonstrates that Mack Trucks, Inc.?s SCR technology is ready and performing very well in customer test fleets. This testing has also confirmed that Mack?s SCR after treatment strategy results in significantly less active regeneration events of the diesel particulate filters (DPF), which increases fuel economy, as well as productivity for both the truck and driver. In over the road (OTR) applications, Mack has eliminated active DPF regeneration.
