Honda to build new Japan hybrid components plant.
TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Honda Motor Co plans to build a new manufacturing plant in Japan to produce key hybrid car components, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported. The 8 bln yen plant in Mie prefecture is expected to come onstream by 2008 and will quadruple its annual output of electric motors to 200,000 units, the report said. Honda's global sales target for hybrid cars is 200,000 units by 2009, the report said.
