This September study states that many science instruments are clarifying HOW Antarctic ices are shedding. Complicated interpretations of satellite data performed in multiple wavelengths, now show that calving icebergs are just as important as warming temperatures that melt ices.
A complementary study detailing how warmth intrudes to the interior, away from coastlines to move & melt ices & a video also add greatly to our increasing knowledge of Antarctic ice...
One resident thought the jackhammering outside her apartment was causing the shaking. But family members who contacted her, said she felt the earthquake. An old dead tree fell down. But, I'm not sure that wasn't more a result of the recent passing wind & rain storm. Just don't know.
A new study may explain seemingly increased melting of Antarctic Ice Shelves(all around the continent), that past studies have missed. Numerous studies have modeled warmer current flows from further north latitude regions that are increasing Antarctic Ice Shelf melts. However, these studies usually detail only the large circum-Antarctic flows.

The new study details the thin(20KM wide) off-Ice Shelf fresh-water flow from the further north West Antarctic Ice Shelves. This surface flow is moving around the circular...
