Matthew will be upgrading the backend Server OS and PHP so the forum SW can be upgraded to the latest sometime next weekend.

There is also a free host upgrade waiting to give the server double the drive space which we need. He will need about 30 minutes down time for the host upgrade part. And then it'll likely be at least a half day to get the server on to the newest version of the OS and the xen upgrade completed.

All of my life The Electric Companies have been encouraging energy conservation but Florida Power & Light has broken the mold.

Florida Power & Light is selectively targeting customers who conserve electricity with a higher base connection fee. they raised their base connection fee 278% but only for customers who use less than 250kw of energy per month. Overall usage is maybe 90% "in town" and 10% "highway". He says he is using the heater on just about every trip.
Other than the 90% city travel, every other data point he included is going to hurt fuel economy in any hybrid.

With my local Shell that carried Diesel closed permanently, I've been going out of my way to fillup at Shell stations when driving to other towns, because of my $0.10 discount. I guess if diesel doesn't count towards Platinum status, I guess I'll be buying a lot less fuel from Shell.

They called it "Powertrain S", and what they described sounds to me like electric propulsion with a gas-fired range extender and smaller battery than a pure BEV. They were asking about buyers' expectations and whether they'd consider this new idea versus ICE or HEV or PHEV or BEV. They included potential range and MPG/MPGe numbers as well as how much more each option costs relative to the ordinary ICE version.

My simpler solution is to get a realistic-looking urethane or butyl rubber pit viper and leave it coiled up on the back seat. Then put a small sign on the dash - "Please do not knock on the window - my venomous pit viper is sleeping. But do feel free to wave hello unless you resemble a delicious mouse. Thank you"
