Time to pull out your Garmin and update it. I received a notification through the Garmin Express SW this morning that new updated software and maps are available. The DriveSmart 50 and DriveSmart70 both received their new maps and software updates about an hour ago.

It was just announced that Verizon will begin notifying users who have been flagged as using an “extraordinary” amount of data via mailer and through bill messages explaining to them the loss of their unlimited data and their options to stay with Verizon (VZW). Although the ‪#‎LGG4‬ is my primary phone due to its vastly superior camera, ‪#‎tmobile‬ pushed Android 6.01, Marshmallow, to the relatively old Samsung ‪#‎GalaxyS5‬ I also happen to own.

Not bad. Shuts down power draining and RAM using apps, lower control SW buttons now light up briefly and apps really are faster.

An interesting update as I just purchased what is possibly the best 3-axis smartphone video gimbal available for a reasonable price that I know about today.

That being the Zhiyun Z1 Smooth-C for $187 shipped.

I decided to complete this purchase given the multiple San Diego Auto Show Vids I produced from the show floor. 1080p all the way to 4k including pretty good quality is all there. What is not is stabilization despite an OIS solution being built in.

See the lack of image stabilization? The 3-axis gimbal should remove almost all of it. I...
