Regarding last night's "tornado" weather, this must have been the strange crackling and "airplanes flying in circles overhead" that I heard. It was fairly calm, little wind, on the ground with just a little rain. Other than the sound of "airplanes" circling above, I could hear thunder in the distance. Weirdest sounds I have ever heard in a storm. By morning though, there was snow covering the ground. The sirens went off three times, long time each.

The reason I placed it in this Weather related forum thread is that recent temperatures in the Death Camp, this February 2024, only 1200+ miles from the North Pole, have been as low as -22degF(-30degC).

Until then tho, Stevens Pass Highway 2 has been closed for the last 3 days, even way down into the valley, due to snow & many falling trees. People in towns above the line are stranded. There are reports that supplies will be sent to the towns into the mountains. Yesterday, a huge fat cottonwood tree crushed, not one, but two houses simultaneously.

Following the Hottest July on Record, Death Valley was 121 degrees F today. Between Phoenix to just west of El Centro, Calif. prior to climbing over the Laguna Mountain Range on the 8, temps hit a high of 116.
