No surprise here, Honda's, Subaru's and Toyota's cover the the ten longest owned vehicles. Ten years is a considerable amount of time, especially for personal relationships. The average marriage in the U.S. lasts just 8.8 years, and that’s a long-term commitment compared to the rapport we have with our rides. The typical American motorist holds onto a new car for 6.5 years, according to IHS Automotive. With the average new vehicle now selling for $35,309 (according to Kelley Blue Book) and auto financing now extending to as long as eight years, it’s easy to see why initial ownership is up from an average 4.3 years back in 2006. http://www3.forbes.com/business/10-...50197&utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=referral

My record is the last Silverado - 6 years and a couple months. But buying it new and putting 393,000 miles on it - it's more like 15+ years in normal driver mileage. Kinda like saying 'in dog beers I only had 4'. Work vans averaged 3 years. Volt was 3 years. Sierra 1 year and counting, no plans to replace any time soon. Shoot, I've had cars I only kept 6 days

I wish I still had my 1993 VFR750. 1000+ miles in one day ! Which included SIX stops fop gas. Average highway speed ? Don't ask.
I wish I had had the VFR750. Instead I had a Kawasaki Ninja 600 before graduating to a Kawasaki Concours (sport/touring bike). Gave up riding for Mom.
