Honda April 2016 Sales Overview Honda reported it sold an April record 148,829 Honda and Acura vehicles, up 14.4 percent over the 130,068 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 506,532 are up 9.2 percent over the 464,011 vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. Honda by itself achieved a new monthly sales record of 132,623 vehicles in April, up 15.1 percent over the 115,194 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 452,451 vehicles is up 10.5 percent over the 409,493 vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. Acura April sales totaled 16,206 vehicles, up 9.0 percent over the 14,874 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 54,081 is down 0.8 percent. Honda April 2016 Sales Highlights Civic dominates the compact car segment with its sixth consecutive month-over-month sales increase. In April, the sharp looking Civic was picked up by 35,331 new owners, up 24.5 percent over the 28,380 sold in April of 2015 and a new all-time April record. Year to date Civic sales of 122,634 is up 28.9 percent over the 95,102 sold during the same period of 2015. The recently refreshed Accord also had a good month with sales of 31,526 vehicles, up 15.7 percent over the 27,251 sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 108,599 is up a very healthy 13.2 percent over the 95,896 sold through the same period of 2015. April 2016 Market Share and Industry Sales Detail In March Honda picked up significant market share. On a volume basis, March sales of 1.50 million vehicles was up 3.4 percent over April of 2015s 1.45 million vehicles sold result. 2016 YTD sales of 5.55 million is up 2.8 percent over the 5.4 million vehicles sold through period of the same 2015. The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in April was approximately 17.6 million vehicles. Calendar-year-to-date, the light vehicle SAAR was 17.4 million vehicles.
Honda Canada April Sales Up 7.4% with 17,906 Vehicles Sold Honda of Canada April 2016 Sales Overview Honda Canada achieved sales of 17,906 vehicles in April, up 7.4 percent over the 16,679 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 53,873 vehicles ids up an even stronger 13.9 percent. Honda on its own reported April sales of 15,700 vehicles, up 8.7 percent over the 14,447 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Acura reported April sales of 2,206 vehicles, down 1.2 percent below the 2,232 sales achieved in April of 2015. Honda of Canada April 2016 Sales Highlights Like last month, Canadian Civic sales not only lead the brand but are moving onward and upward. Civic sales reached 6,202 vehicle, up 10.1 percent over the 5,634 sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 18,721 is up 16.3 percent over the 16,092 vehicles sold during the same period of 2015. The second best seller in the Honda lineup was the CR-V with April sales of 4,101 vehicles, up 5.6 percent over the 3,883 vehicles sold in April of 2015. Year to date sales of 12,826 is up 10.3 percent over the 11,631 sold through the same period of 2015.
