Poster: xcel (see this users gallery) WOLFSBURG, Germany - Volkswagen announced they have become the world’s top third largest automaker thanks to VW’s sales figures in the first half of 2008. Rival Ford is now ranked fourth. VW delivered 3.31 million vehicles in the first half of 2008, an increase of 7.2% in the first six months of 2008, moving up to third place in the global vehicle sales while overtaking its rival Ford, which announced vehicle sales of 3.22 million for the same period.
