Poster: xcel  (see this users gallery)

With partner Gertrag, Volvo today announced it will be offering a new 6-speed transmission known as “Powershift” for their 2.0L diesel equipped C30, S40 and V50 automobiles. Powershift operates as two parallel manual gearboxes with two wet clutches that work independently of one another. One clutch, gear and shaft is always engaged to provide engine torque to the wheels while the other is placed in readiness to be engaged in the next higher gear. When the second clutch, gear and shaft has been engaged, the first clutch is being readied for the next higher up gear and so on.
