They came after officials found an unidentified, silicone-like substance under the manifold of Waltrip’s No. 55 NAPA Toyota before Sunday qualifying at Daytona International Speedway. They confiscated the part, then went back an hour later and took the entire car when a replacement manifold also was suspicious. The team scrambled to get a backup Camry ready for Wednesday practice, but it never made it on the track.
