05-29-2007 08:35 PM Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day Weekend. Did quite a bit of driving, went down to Greenfield Village and out to my parents house twice over the three day weekend. Unfortunately, the weather didn't behave as well as it should've, and I drove quite a bit with rain and the defroster on with the added bonus of highway driving! I've managed to pull it up a bit yesterday, hovering around 37 MPG. This week I'll be making my reservations for hybridfests hotel, so you don't have to fret anymore Eric! I made my reservations for the fest itself the week they started accepting them, so there's no fretting there. I'm looking forward to it, though it's still a ways off. Hopefully this week I'll hear back from C+G Publishing. I would really like to work there, and could really use the income. Guess that's all for now, enjoy the open road! 05-25-2007 01:48 AM Saw Pirates of the Carribean 3: At Worlds End tonight. Kind of a meh movie IMHO, though I'm not really sure why, other than I was expecting a more "Hollywood Happy All Ends Tied Up" ending. Seems they're just spoiling for a sequel. Oh well. MPGs was good, phenomenal weather really. Currently: 56.4 miles on this tank, averaging 37.2 MPG. It was warmer tonight when I took out the garbage then it was last week I think LOL, I'm not really a summer person, I prefer fall, but this nice weather and the accompaning MPGs with it certainly does do something to my outlook! 05-23-2007 11:47 PM Well, I had a pretty good day MPG wise. Nice weather, a decent set of destinations, and some light traffic. Tank average was lowered a bit, but still at a rather respectible 38.4 MPG. Not bad. 05-23-2007 11:53 AM Had a thought today. What if by July there's a gas shortage/outage? Yeah, no gas at the gas stations. That'll effect everything, from HF to, well, lot's of stuff. Supply is at critical, and there are lots of pay any price, gulp down the gas buyers in the nation. 05-21-2007 10:50 PM Well, today has been a good Driving day. I had talked to my parents on the phone, especially after reading about low fuel supplies, Memorial Day markups, etc, and decided to use up some Speedway points I had accumulated to save 50 cents on the cost of fuel. Since the offer is good for 25 gallons, and I'd only be needing around 10, I offered to have my parents fill up as well. We went to the cheapest station (A mind boggling $3.32, cheaper than the usual $3.39 everywhere else), and filled up for what in the end would be $2.82 per gallon. Tank average? 35.2 MPG! But here's where it gets better. Heading home, I stopped at Burger King, and got a free shake that I had won in their Spiderman contest. Then went to Blockbuster, and returned my free monthly rental. When I arrived in the garage, 18.2 miles later, I had averaged a very nice 42.4 MPG! Boo-yeah!
