Been busy working both ends of the media Spectrum.

My radio interview aired, http://www.wkar.org/morningedition/s...p?storyid=1144

So, that's good. I haven't been hired yet by C+G Publishing, so that's bad.

I'm at 39 MPG on this tank, so that's good. I haven't been admitted to the APA yet, so that's bad.

I've already gotten a few messages about the radio interview, that's good. I think my voice sounds far higher than normal, so that's bad.

Well, today was the NPR interview. I met up with Scott, a very nice guy who had come down to see the new exhibit at the Henry Ford, and then see me. we talked a bit, had lunch, and then went for a drive, the same one I did with Nancy Derringer. 41 miles round trip, 50% City, 50% Highway, ish. He interviewed me as we drove along, and I ended the trip with 40.4 MPG on the display. Whoo!!!

Using the warm and the good MPGs, I ran a few errands, MPG dropped a bit, phooey, but will probably go up this weekend when I go out again.

That's it for now.

I'm pretty stoked right now, I filled up today because I found a station selling for under $3, and tomorrow I'm having an NPR person come by to interview me about my hybrid and hypermiling, but lo and behold, I did it, I ended up averaging 40.2 MPG over 513 Miles! My first 40 Plus tank, and my goal for the summer! Whoo!!!!

I wasn't excited all along, because my FCD was only showing 38.9, a high for me, but nothing that tremendous, but calculating it by hand, I found it was low. (This marks the fourth time it's been low, usually it's within .3)

Heh, double what most conventional AWD Escape owners ever see. Whoo!!!

Oh, for the record, I did that without Key FASing or Drafting, just driving smart and using the hybrid technology to its potential!

June 1st, 2005 I got my FEH. According to my spreadsheet, $1K more and I'm ahead in fuel savings vs initial price investment on the Hybrid against a conventional vehicle.

I haven't been driving much, since I haven't anywhere to go, and gas prices are too expensive anyway.

Today hasn't been a real good day. Got up late, didn't get any of the calls I was expecting, and tonight, my microwave stopped working. *Sigh* Some days you just don't win.
