I just can't help it. I'm almost crying - and it is not because I think racing is such a waste of resources. This is really an art of sounds...
Crank up the volume before launching the movie.

Re: Hypermile this!
Actually this is just what is needed. When the general public see EV race cars, they will get the message that EV are fast cars. Then they will want one.

That sound byte is going to become my contribution to saving the blind from my car. I'm going to need an amp...

Re: Hypermile this!
I don't get why people haven't caught on to EV's sooner.
They have more torque than God himself and would be unbelievably quick off the line.
Case in point: an electric golf cart. I'll keep a long story short, but let's just say the cart had enough torque to ascend the 60 percent grade hill, although gravity was less friendly...

Re: Hypermile this!
ummm guys, its not a full EV, its a hybrid..
EV's just dont have the range for enought people to warrant getting one..
I know myself I dont want to have to find a plug in every 200 miles,
a cross country trip would be a PITA for sure..
an around town vehicle mite be ok, but owning 2 vehicles.. I donno..
just get a Hybrid and call it a day..

Re: Hypermile this!
EV's don't have the range to suit everybody yet. Just wait till batteries get better and cars get lighter, then we're sorted. I know there are fears about lighter cars not doing too well against heavier cars in crashes but if everybody is in a light car then there is no problem.

4 people, 0-60 in 10s, 300mile range is the standard needed. Once you hit those numbers, you satisfy both around town and daytrips. Longer trips are either extended using moderate turn-around times or other vehicles or rentals, but that's <1% of all trips by car in the US.

Re: Hypermile this!
300 mile range still hinders your freedom of going places..
With the technology we have now, we should have generators that replenish/charge as you drive..
(perpetual motion of sorts)
