Fuel efficient car magazines
Are there any magazine subscriptions out there which deal with fuel efficient automobiles and new technology? I subscribe to "Car and Driver" and "Road and Track" and have become increasingly disapointedwith their lack of coverage of this "genre."
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel efficient car magazines
Fairly unlikely. Most car magazines are concerned with huge horsepower and displaying scantily clad women on high-horsepower cars.
I would be interested in one, though. edit - I would be interested in a magazine devoted to fuel efficient automobiles and the underlying technology thereof.

Re: Fuel efficient car magazines
Everytime I have ever read through C&D or R&T, I feel like I have just read an info-mercial for the latest SUV or gas sucking sports car. To them, engine efficiency begins and ends with horsepower per cubic inch, not gallons per horsepower hour.
I would love to see some real info on cars (and motorcycles). Idle fuel consumption, 50,60, and 70 mph fuel consumption and service, maintainance costs for starters.

Re: Fuel efficient car magazines
That my be why R & T's subscription price is so cheap. I got a renewal notice yesterday for $12 for 3 years. I still don't think I will resubscribe.

Re: Fuel efficient car magazines
A few months ago in either M&T or C&D, they had about 8 long term test cars and not one got over 20mpg as tested. I just got the April issue of MT and their long term test 2007 Mini Cooper S is getting at 23.7 mpg, which they reported as the most fuel efficient vehicle in their fleet.

Re: Fuel efficient car magazines
A fuel efficiency car magazine...do you guys not realize the gold mine that you have??? I mean, you guys have enough info here for at least an online version, I'm sure you would have huge sales with such a magazine! people from all over would want their hands on these things, especially something that keeps up with the times as things change to include what is the next gadget or trick to getting better mileage. I will compile some information just for this site, it might take some time, but i would like to know what the opinions are!
