CRX HF: More Hypermiling Skeptics on Forums....

I was trying to Googe to find how many CRX HFs were ever built. Instead I found at http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t174964.html

Could a CRX HF really get 65 MPG? I've seen the car. No passenger's door mirror, 13-inch steelies...and he was skinny.
Any possible way he could have gotten what he claims? Please, someone who has had one, call BS on this!
I wish this was a recent post and there was a way we could invite this hypermiler! When my 1988 CRX HF was new, I usually got 50mpg, 60mph if I tried, and may have gotten 76mpg hypermiling at 50mph.

I'd go so far as to predict that if he could have rigged something like ScanGage (it's too old for that), he might have had an 80mpg trip!

Re: More Hypermiling Skeptics on Forums....

BTW, the CRX HF came without a passenger mirror to improve FE.

That thread had rude gearheads, but also had members saying it is possible.

Linked someone that got 67mpg on his CRX HF in Utah.

I make a move that the next Tour del Sol be held on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Interesting reply of why it's harder to get 50mpg these days...
