Two Mondays to Memorial Day.

Proven ways to save gas and money reducing our nation's dependence on foreign oil.

US DOE – EERE - May 15, 2006

The traditional driving and vacation season is fast approaching - which means it is a perfect time to increase your energy IQ and find new ways to keep you car fuel efficient. The way you drive can save you a lot of green this summer. Speeding and rapid acceleration and braking cut mileage up to 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent in town. Nix jack-rabbit starts in favor of slow acceleration from a dead stop. Speeding cuts fuel economy 7 to 23 percent, as gas mileage decreases rapidly above 60 mph. Driving faster than 60 mph is like paying more for each gallon of gas. For more easy energy saving tips visit www.energysavers.gov today. The site is full of energy saving strategies that are more than just basic tips - they are proven ways to save gas and money reducing our nation's dependence on foreign oil and the stress on your wallet.
