Honda drivers looking bad yesterday in Tulsa

Honda drivers where looking real bad in Tulsa yesterday. These where not the ricer kids and young adults. It was my middle aged peers.

Coming in yesterday morning just south of Glenpool on hwy 75 a lady in a 03/04 Accord LX Sedan runs a stop sign on hwy 75. Report I got from a first responder I know claims she was chating on her cellphone and putting on her makeup. Had lived the area for years. No stranger to the stop sign. Hell Ive seen her and the car many a morning. And she is allways doing something else than focusing on her driving. Anyway running the stop sign at 45 mph or so put her right in the face of south bound traffic. A older Dodge Ram Charger hit her. No time to brake or anything. Impact point was from the rear of the passenger door and front fender. Both cars came to rest in the center median. The Accord exploded! Engine and tranny where out in the road. Basicly the side and front of the Accord where gone. Paramedics where working her. Life flight came in for the driver of the Dodge. The Dodge driver wasnt wearing a seat belt. The Ram Charger faired well in the wreck and appeared that a clip and afew other parts would get that rig back on the road. Was a bad deal all around.

Bummer

I forgot my cellphone yesterday. The wife and I left them at home today and are looking into and thinking about not reuping our contract. We are wondering if the insanity created with these deviecs is worth it. I pull over when I get a call when driving and never make one while moving. Truth be told. 99.9% of the cellphone calls I receive are utter dribble useless babble. And of course the .1% of calls I make are important!

Then going home yesterday stuck in traffic and surounded by SUV's and Pickup's. A 06 EX Civic Sedan driver makes a ass of himself. A light changes turns green. The Civic driver cant be bothered with the Suburban in front of him thats driving right. The huge SUV isnt bum rushing the light next light. Being easy on the gas,,, doing things right. HE WAS HYPERMILING! The middle aged dude in the Civic got all up tight,,, whiped out around the SUV and nailed the gas, waging the middle finger and standing on the horn. The light the SUV driver was looking at was red. Yep,, the Civic driver went head on into stoped traffic doing at least 60 mph. It looked like a bowling ball going thru a freshly set bowling pin rack at the local alley. Heading the other way as I was I couldnt see all the damage done by this mental gaint. I looked up at all the heavy metal surrounding me and nobody was smiling at all. They where putting the hate too the Civic driver in there mithes. It was very very uncomphy. All these huge rigs could have crushed my car with little to no damage to theres.

It was a bad day for many drivers at the hands of Honda drivers. Im glad the Okies in there heavy metal didnt take it out on me in the end.

psy

edit: I just found out the lady in the Accord died as a result of her actions. She was the mother of two children and wife of a Sapulpa police officer.

Re: Honda drivers looking bad yesterday in Tulsa

Not only does slowing down save gas, it saves lives. While these stories might be somewhat humorous, the results aren't.

However, my cynical side says these folks got what was coming to them. I feel for those that are affected by the accidents and deaths (other drivers, husband and children). Their lives are needlessly hurt by the selfish actions of such careless individuals.

Re: Honda drivers looking bad yesterday in Tulsa

I'm sorry to hear the lady died and what her family will be going thru. Two childern without a mother, a police officer that is a widower because she was a distracted driver.

The way MADD campaigned on drunk drivers I hope can be done on distracted drivers. There has to be a way.

god what the **** was she thinking?!?!! i really hope her kids don't follow the same fate. Even I don't do that and I consider going through stop signs at 10 mph is hardcore

i hope the kids don't get corrupted without parents now... its usually the trend if they get mixed up with the wrong crowd.

Spooky

As I was leaving work today, some woman was driving on the fast side with her phone glued to her ear. She was in a silver Accord at an intersection that is at the Richardson police headquarters.

Motorcycles-cell Phones

I don't ride my motorcycles-SR500 +Honda Ascot(80's beaters) much anymore because of cell phones. Nothing is scarier than riding along, and seeing the back of a head with the left hand to the ear. It is usually someonestopped at a cross street looking upstream into the far lane instead of looking at the folks that are going to hit them 1st. Of course, they are planning to look into the near lane, but the DFs always let off the brakes and move into the intersection before they get their head around to face the traffic that is going to hit them. Not too bad if I'm in a car, I'll T-bone them, but really bad if you are on a MC. My choice is to jam on the brakes and get run down from behind, or to flash my lights and hope to attract this dimwits attention before they kill me. I usually try to use a car as a blocker in these situations-hug its shadow so I can't get hit.
Shame about that woman. Cell phones are waaay too dangerous to use while driving. Thanks,Charlie
