Next Milwaukee Hybrid Group Meet; 10-27-07

Hello MiHG members and friends,

This is the announcement for the next MiHG meet on Saturday October 27, 2007, to be held at the Oak Creek Public Library from 10am until 1pm or whenever we leave.

At this meet we will be learning about the Ford Escape Hybrid, perhaps the best hybrid SUV on the market. Debbie Anders, MiHG Planner and one of the best hypermilers in the country, will share her experiences with her Escape Hybrid. The FEH does not get the public attention that the Prius or HCH2 may get but it is a very “workable” SUV with great fuel economy. We’re sure that Debbie will not hold back her enthusiasm for her FEH.

As fall and winter approach, and the wonderful warm days of summer recede, so will your fuel economy. What better time to learn about mitigating the effects of winter than at a meet with members exchanging suggestions and experiences. We’ll review what to expect this fall/winter and how you can lessen the impact of colder temps.

In addition, we’ll have our round robin of personal driving updates, exchange of EcoDriving and Hypermiling tips, discussion of current news and upcoming events including the Great Race 2008, fabulous door prizes and of course we’ll enjoy our wonderful bounteous pot luck meal together. We will also offer group and individual driver EcoDriving and Hypermiling training after lunch for the beginner, intermediate or advance driver.

We are proud to announce that you now can “fly your MiHG colors” by purchasing MiHG merchandise at our store at Café Press. Currently our classic logo is available on a variety of clothing as well as other select items. The prices are reasonable, guaranteed and a portion of the price will be reinvested into MiHG activities. Support your MiHG and check out the link below:

http://www.cafepress.com/buy/milwauk...t_/fpt_/c_666/

In the future we will be offering a series of designs that will help promote the MiHG and its mission.

If you are a new member, you’ll be very impressed with what the largest hybrid owners group in the country has to offer. We have many of the best hypermilers attend our meets so there is a good chance that you can learn from the best. If you are a regular member, this is the chance to renew your enthusiasm and motivation to achieve the best possible fuel economy and to share your hybrid story of accomplishments with our newer members. We all teach and learn at every meet.

Additional agenda items and directions will be following soon. We hope we’ll see you there.

Bradlee Fons
and the MiHG Planning Group

Re: Next Milwaukee Hybrid Group Meet; 10-27-07

I'll be there, Bradlee!

I'll be a bit tired as I've got to attend the wife's hockey game (the night before) but I'll get there just the same.

I'll be there too. I'm just not sure if my wife and daughter are coming with me yet.

Re: Next Milwaukee Hybrid Group Meet; 10-27-07

That's great news Sean and Larry.

Your support and contribution to our MiHG is incredible, beyond what you think. When I told several of our new members at our install yesterday that we had members coming in from Minnesota and Indiana they were surprised and very impressed. As I've said to each of you before, your sharing of your time and experience with our members is very inspiring not only to our members but to me and our Planning Team.

I hope we can continue to lure you to our meets with our hospitality and camaraderie in addition to giving you an opportunity to teach and nurture us with your expertise. The MiHG as well as the MHG and the CPG are very fortunate to have such a goldmine of talent such as yours within this Midwest area.

I hope that you get as much out of our meets as you give to me and our members at the meets. I suspect that you do and I thank you for that.

Bradlee

Bradlee, the service you provide to the community at large with your MiHG efforts is immensely beneficial! I'm proud to be associated with such a great group of people and I hope to make a habit of participating in your meetings (weather and time permitting).

I did indeed get a lot out of the last meeting (my first!) and I only hope that I'm successful in passing along some measure of what I've been fortunate enough to receive from others here.

Thanks for the kind words Bradlee. Don't forget that you and Justin and everyone else deserves a lot of credit for putting the group/meetings together. I think I can say that the group was a very large part of why I'm currently driving a Prius.

Next MiHG Meet Agenda; 10-27-07

Hello to MiHG members and friends,

Our upcoming meet on Saturday October 27 at the Oak Creek Public Library will be about the Ford Escape Hybrid, cold weather strategies, pedestrian safety, speed limits and the Great Race 2008. We’ll once again be having some of the best hypermilers in the country coming in from Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota for this meet. Their experience and knowledge always enhances our meets as well as their expertise with the personal driver training for our members.

For our first timers, here’s the way things generally work. We begin to gather in the Library parking lot about 9:15am to schmooze and show off our vehicles. If the weather is good, we’ll begin check-in and our VTP’s. At 10:00am we’ll begin to setup our room and by 10:20 we should be set to begin our introduction round robin. We’ll have our main session and then take a short break for snacks. We’ll then offer some updates, reviews, news, short subjects and door prizes and then break for lunch about 12:30pm. After our potluck lunch, we’ll begin our driver training sessions about 12:50pm and begin cleanup. Beverages and utensils will be supplied but we encourage all attending to bring some food to share. (Main dishes are greatly appreciated). The agenda usually does not follow the timeline though.

So if you know anyone who would like to learn how to save money and lower their fuel costs, invite them to attend. This will be a major part of the MiHG public outreach in 2008 and there is no better time to start than now.

Please feel free to bring any co-worker, friend or relative if they are thinking about buying a hybrid because our meets are the best way to get accurate and real life info on hybrids. We have new vehicle brochures that they will be free to take back with them. We’ll also have “spectacular” door prizes, free handouts and interesting displays in addition to good camaraderie. We also will have Prius grill blocking material for sale at $3 with free installation available.

We anticipate another great and memorable meet and we thank you for all your encouragement and support in the continual growth of the MiHG, the largest hybrid owners group in North America. Questions please call us at 262-691-4349.

She has enthusiasm? How can you tell? She hardly ever talks about her FEH.
