New CPU
I replaced my E6600 with a Q6600. Man will the quad core haul the mail. Knocked 5 mins. off my frame times in F@H. Need to get vmware or just run it in Linux. Windows SMP kind of sucks. No it does suck.
Only have it overclocked to 3.2 ghz right now. Have had it at at 3.6 ghz. And have booted into winblows at 3.8 ghz just to lock up. It looks like my ram needs to be upgraded. I would think with better ram and water cooling it would be a 4.0 ghz cpu.
These G0 quad cores are pretty slick. For you eco minded folks it went 3.0 ghz @ 1.125v as messured by CPUz. Thats with a healthy vdroop. I have bios at 1.400v and cpuz is reporting 1.36v @ 3.2 ghz. The main board a Gigabyte GA-P965-DQ6 is known for vdroop. Im pretty sure when Im done I will get the cpu voltage down some.
Wayne,,, time to get rid of that Sillyron.

Re: New CPU
I wish I knw you was wanting the P5K Premium board because I could not use mine. It was not compatible with the hard drives I bought. Now I have to return it and lose %15 in restocking fee.
Any way it sounds like you have a great new setup.
I went with the E6850 dual core, 2GB ram, gforce 8800 GTS 640mb, four 250GB Western Digital raid ready hard drives ( 1 as my OS and 3 in a raid 5), X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty, and a Enermax Infiniti 720W Power Suppl to power the whole thing.

Folding@Home,,, One of the few things I do for humanity. SMP is using multi core cpus for getting the job done faster.
I recently left the overclcokers.com team #32. Im now folding with the frogs over at PC Perspective.
Here is a vid from the frogs about folding. Tugs on my heart every time I see it.
