I would say the average has been about 45-50mpg depending on how fast I drive. Now nearing 323,000 miles. Still going strong.

Re: “Ride of the week” – August 1, 2007.

Hello again from Hingham MA. Just got back last nite from a day trip to Quebec province. Blasted the car up to 112mph on a 13% grade on rte 257 just north of the NH/PQ border. Often at 80-100mph in Quebec, but heck police are very few and far between. Didn't see any inbetween towns. Foliage was awesome. Also the air seems much much cleaner up in canada...I wonder if they have tougher environmental laws...either that or simply much sparser population. Anyway the car ran great and returned about 46 mpg round trip considering very high speeds some of the time. Just under 325K tonite.

Hi Jesse:

___With all the miles you place on her, you should be posting a travelogue. Let us know where you two are headed for the next excursion, take some pics and post them when you get back!

___Good Luck

___Wayne

Re: “Ride of the week” – August 1, 2007.

Hi All:

___I received a call from Jesse yesterday and low and behold, his 02 Prius-I just passed through 333,333 miles.

___One of the stories he wanted me to pass along was that he was on the Florida Turnpike and at some points, he was pushing as high as 85 – 95 mph and there were SUV’s and P/U trucks pacing him Can you imagine owning one of those monstrosities and receiving maybe all of 8 mpg with gas at $3.20 per? He said his Prius was allowing ~ 30 mpg at the same … Not approved but 30 is a lot better than 10 or less!

___Anyway, here is his in car pic.

___Good Luck

___Wayne

Way to go Jesse. I love to tell people his mileage when they ask "So, when do you have to replace the battery?"

Thanks for the update Wayne.

Hello everyone again from Hingham MA, just a little under 336,000 miles tonite. So far so good. Same batteries. Just got back from NYC with a friend. Managed to pull 50mpg even in the crappy cold weather.
