Re: The Unofficial HybridFest Live-Blogging Thread
put down efusco in the "on the way" category. A little later than I'd hoped, still need to pick up my son at school since he's coming with me, but I'm preparing to hit the road now. Expect to be in Chicagoland by about 5pm then head up to Madison in the AM. May be able to check-in later tonight.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

If anyone remembers the movie Ben Hur, I get "Parade of the Charioteers" playing in my head as I read this thread.

I won't be giving any Insighters any competition. I'll have to stick close to the speed limit to get up there in a reasonable amount of time, as I'm leaving Friday afternoon. I may miss the Friday checkin. Still, hoping for 80 to 85. See y'all Real Soon Now.

haha. Durant, Oklahoma at 5 a.m sounds like fun, fun, fun! Glad the Texans made it safe & sound. Get some sleep for the big race.

Besides reading all the accounts of people coming to Hybridfest, feel free to stop by the "Press Room" on the Hybridfest web site http://hybridfest.com/PressRoom.htm
Lot's of interviews and radio programs to listen to and articles as well.

Re: The Unofficial HybridFest Live-Blogging Thread
Sorry guys... I'll be a bit late to hot Rods & Hybrids tonight at Quaker Steak & Lube.
Why?
Because I'll be on the local CBS TV's 5:00 broadcast. Live from the Fair.
So if nothing else, if you're at QS&L, make them turn on channel 3!
I'll try to give some "shout outs!"
Bradlee, Justin and some other Hybridfest people should be there to greet you at QS&L.

Re: The Unofficial HybridFest Live-Blogging Thread
The cruise-in was pretty entertaining, although the hybrids
were sort of off in their own section [albeit right in front
of the outside-opening part of the restaurant, which gave them
prominence] and the rest of the place was *full* of rods and
oldies of various sorts.
.
My attempt to paste together samples of a '68 Mustang idling and
revving and play the CD of it over the stereo didn't really work --
not LOUD enough to really be heard outside the car the same way!

Re: The Unofficial HybridFest Live-Blogging Thread
What a great event this is, you who couldn't make it and are upset...should be. Those who didn't consider coming...should have. Those who'll be coming up for Sat. & Sunday....prepare to see a very well organized event, meet a lot of people you'll know immediately from online and have a great time.
I'm in the midst of uploading my day 1 photos to my flickr site and will post them soon.
Weather conditions for the mpgchallenge really couldn't have been bettery. Bill Kinney hit 168mpg on the route...Wayne was ~154? The top 3 Prius 2s were over 100mpg...I came in a lowly 88.

Re: The Unofficial HybridFest Live-Blogging Thread
It was great to finally put some faces with some names and aliases. I have to say the challenge was really well put on this year - sensible rules to level the playing field, but with enough flexibility to cover things like people getting lost, random TRAINS, etc.
Now that the challenge is over I'll finally be able to relax and enjoy things.
I'd post more but I'm exhausted. I think I finally got today's trips and fillups figured out, so I'm off to the DG forum and then to sleep. See everyone tomorrow!
