Sure, some Linux distros don't pay much attention to security, and you can make any Linux box insecure. But a windoze box is insecure out-of-the-box, and to make it reasonably secure you have to cripple it. Biggest problem with windoze security is that browser that you can't uninstall which runs with system-level access. Turning off ActiveX is a big help, but you break lots and lots of websites.
