NM Newbie

Hi guys and gals. I'm the proud owner of a new 08 Mariner 4WD with everything on it. Getting ready for my third tank of gas. So far, getting 31.8 MPG.

I'm retired, live east of Albuquerque in the mountains at 7000 feet. Going into Abq., which is at 5300 feet and 18 miles away, is a real hoot for gas mileage. Coming back home is another story.

Been lurking the forums for a few days and decided to jump in. I didn't feel comfortable until I got a handle on all the terminology. I have a question about the Navigation CD, has anyone figured out a way to back it up? I'm a retired software geek and I get a little nervous about not having a backup of my software.

Looking forward to swapping tales and info with everyone.

Gary C

Re: NM Newbie

Welcome aboard, Gary! There was a fellow from Albuquerque's City Planning Office up here in Reno a few months ago who gave a presentation on the renewable energy and energy efficiency efforts the city has made. It was impressive stuff and light years ahead of my own city.

I'm glad to finally have another mountain commuter here. My commute is from Reno (4,500ft) over Mount Rose (8,900ft) to Lake Tahoe (6,200ft), a distance of 27 miles. There's not a whole lot that can be done to save FE on a hill climb but if you'd like to dial in what you can just let me know.
