Dealers Oversized American flag causes flap in Las Vegas

There's a restaurant chain called Perkins, and one of the
hallmarks of one near my parents' down in FL is a HUGE flag
out front. Apparently it was responsible for the death of
an employee who was trying to take it down as a storm rolled
in -- the thing lifted him right off the ground, and wham.

I voted that it's truly patriotic not because the dealer isn't using it to promote sales, but because I really don't see the problem with it even if he is. Let him keep the flag, the less gov't regulation there is in our everyday lives, the happier we'll all be.

I'm curious if the dealer is following all the proper flag code.

Many people don't, but I always try to make sure that if we have a flag up, that it's properly retired before sunset.

One of the dealers in my area has a similar flag, and it's too large to be flown at half staff without touching the ground. That is one thing that bothers me a bit. They usually will fly it at three quarters staff on days of national mourning.
