Ford October 2012 Sales up 0.4%
When you talk about Ford, you have to talk about trucks.
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Nov. 2, 2012
2013 Ford F-150 – $23,670 to start and a decent 17/23 mpgUS city/highway rating for a full sized pickup.
Ford not only leads the overall truck segment but also leads the luxury truck segment with more than 30 percent of F-150 sales in high-end trims.
At the top is the Limited surpassing the well-appointed Lariat, western-themed King Ranch and contemporary Platinum.
Outside
The 2013 Ford F-150 Limited includes blinged 22-inch polished alloys and center caps with a monochromatic exterior theme in Ruby Red Metallic, Tuxedo Black Metallic and White Platinum Metallic.
The Limited also includes body-color front and rear bumpers, front bumper valance, sideview mirror caps, wheel-lip molding, upper fascia and grille surround.
In addition, HID headlamps are offered for the very first time in a full sized truck anywhere. The deliver two and a half times more light than conventional halogen lamps and even incorporate F-150 insignias.
Chrome highlights the three-bar grille, tie-down hooks lining the cargo box, the single tip of the tuned exhaust and the tow hooks on 4x4 variants. “LIMITED” dimensional lettering accents the box sides.
Inside
Red and black full-grain leather-trimmed cooled and heated seats are standard fare. The seats are also fully powered with dual memory and the head restraints are four-way-adjustable. Those parked in the rear are provided a full sized truck first in that the second-row seats are heated too.
Aluminum around the center panel and console complements the piano black accents.
A standard moonroof provides an view above, while the rear view camera aids visibility out the back. Voice-activated navigation offers a bird’s-eye view via a centrally mounted 8-inch LCD screen. A power-sliding rear window features privacy tint and defrost functionality.
Connectivity comes standard with the not so well received MyFord Touch.
Limited offers a unique gauge cluster design with the 4.2-inch driver-programmable productivity screen that can be customized to monitor various vehicle systems. The new series level also includes a media hub with USB ports, an SD-card reader and RCA video input jacks. A powerful Sony Audio System is standard. Not quite sure what the Video jack is supposed to be used for but I hope it is not video on the road while moving?
Limited Features
F-150 Limited includes the six-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode, trailer tow package, trailer brake controller, Reverse Sensing System, power-deployable running boards and a 110-volt power inverter.
PowerFold side mirrors keep warm and dry in inclement weather and help ensure driver visibility with heated glass, memory position functionality, puddle lamps, turn signals and self-dimming actuation.
The F-150 Limited is powered by Ford’s 365 HP/420 lb-ft. of torque 3.5L EcoBoost engine with a 16/22 mpgUS city/highway rating in the 4x2 model.
The Limited begins at a head shaking $50,175 prior to any additional packages or options added.
