It’s called “Velocity” and with double the performance of the standard turbo available, it would indeed be one fast Veloster…

The Veloster “Velocity” concept preview.
In preps for SEMA in just two weeks, we have only scratched the surface as to what will begin to show up over the next few days. Directly out of Hyundai PR team, their design and technical center has created the “Velocity” concept from the company’s Veloster sport coupe. The Velocity concept will be front and center under the Hyundai banner at the 2012 SEMA show.
The Velocity is Veloster hell bent on not showing off an aggressive stance but being an aggressor in no uncertain terms.
To begin, the Velocity’s exterior was completely “
tricked” out with 19 x 9.0 inch, HRE lightweight charcoal racing wheels, lower body kit with generous front and rear brake cooling ducts, lift-reducing rear diffuser, oversized rear wing, and a #1 racecar design graphic. While racetrack-oriented, the Velocity concept retains the original Veloster profile.
On the propulsion side and as described in the vid, the direct-injected 1.6L turbo received a massive overhaul by the likes of Cosworth. Some of the changes needed to produce that 400 HP and 350 lb-ft. of torque include all-new performance pistons, rods, turbocharger, intercooler, intake manifold, intake-charging design, fuel system and an all new engine management system.
In an attempt to match the “
over the top” performance treatment, the Velocity suspension and braking modifications needed to handle the newfound under hood performance include Brembo 4-piston calipers and two-piece rotors, Bilstein springs with monotube dampers, and Kumho Ecsta SPT 275/35R19 high performance summer tires.
Other Velocity performance enhancements include:

Race-keeper: Race-Keeper Video GPS data Acquisition System
Katzkin custom suede leather interior: Raven and scarlet themed suede with red stitching

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo “Velocity” Concept

While it may or may not ever touch the track, with double the HP of the original form which it is derived, even those massively oversized 19’s are not going to slow this puppy down… If only Hyundai would bring a 13 Sonata Hybrid with the enhanced power train along with some slick exterior treatments to reduce its Aero profile even further…
Now that would be a setup even I could sink my teeth into
