2013 Prius v, Hatch and PHEV Pricing Details
Price increases are minimal.
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Oct. 19, 2012
2013 Prius v - $26,650 to start and the same easy to achieve 42 mpgUS combined rating we have come to know so well.
The Prius v does meet the needs of most growing families thanks to a larger passenger and cargo capacity while providing the fuel economy and low emissions we have come to expect from a Prius family offering.
The Prius v’s overall proportions and flexibility provide a comfortable interior space with good visibility. A high seating position, ample head room and 38-inch couple distance, provide generous rear legroom. A low, wide-opening rear hatch reveals 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, making it the most spacious dedicated hybrid vehicle on the market.
Sliding second row seats allow for easier ingress and egress and rear-storage flexibility, with a 45-degree recline for even more comfort for back seat passengers. The 60/40 split, folding rear seats present four different seat arrangements that provide excellent usability for passengers and luggage, while a fold-flat front-passenger seat allows for extremely long cargo.
The large center console is accessible from both the driver side and rear seats. In addition, a variety of storage spaces are located throughout the cabin including a dual glove box, a center console utility tray and five cup holders in large and medium sizes. Bottle holders are built into the front and rear door pockets, while most models will feature an overhead storage space suitable for sunglasses. There are storage units built into the sides and under the cargo platform for storing equipment such as car wash items or gloves. Even a special space for umbrellas is located under the second row of seats.
Rear seats fold, slide and recline to configure for any mix of passengers and cargo, and operation switches are located conveniently close to the occupants. New for Toyota, an available seat material called SofTex is designed for easy cleaning, resisting spills and wear in a family vehicle that could see heavy use on a daily basis. Soft to the touch, SofTex’s attributes as compared to leather and other traditional leatherette-type materials include a weight reduction of 50 percent, a manufacturing process with approximately 99 percent fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than conventional synthetic leather, and it’s water and stain resistant. It also does not include any animal-based material.
2013 Prius pricing detail
Toyota earlier this week released pricing detail and new features for its entire 2013 Prius family other than the c.
Prius v
The 2013 Prius v will be available in a new Seaglass Pearl exterior color. In addition, the Prius v Five will offer a SofTex-trimmed steering wheel. The Prius v has small pricing increases over 2012 pricing ranging from $100 to $155. The Prius v Two has increased from $26,550 to $26,650 for 2013, and Prius v Three pricing has increased from $27,315 to $27,415. The highly equipped Prius v Five has increased from $30,140 to $30,295.
| Grade | 2013 MSRP | 2012 MSRP | MSRP Chg ($) | MSRP Chg (%) | |

Prius v Five | $30,295 | $30,140 | +$155 | +0.51% |
All prices listed above exclude the Delivery, Processing, and Handling (DPH) fee.
The Prius hatch adds a Persona Series Special Edition model, adding exterior changes and equipment to a Prius Three in an attempt to create new exterior appeal. The Prius Persona Special Edition includes 17 in alloys with a premium finish and offers a unique exterior color: Black Cherry Pearl. Available exterior colors for the Persona Special Edition also include Black and Blizzard Pearl. A “Persona Series” badge also helps distinguish the model. The Persona Special Edition’s interior is trimmed in charcoal-hued SofTex with black accents and red stitching. The steering wheel is also trimmed in SofTex material and includes a dark chrome bezel that complements the new model’s dark chrome shift knob ring and door grips. The new Persona Special Edition has a MSRP of $27,130.
The MSRP on 2013 Prius has been increased by $200 on each of the five Prius equipment levels.

Prius PHEV
For 2013, there are no price increases or equipment model changes for the Prius Plug-in. The Prius Plug-in first arrived in showrooms in February 2012.
| Grade | 2013 MSRP | 2012 MSRP | MSRP Chg ($) | MSRP Chg (%) | |

Prius Plug-in | $32,000 | $32,000 | $0 | 0.00% | |
Prius Plug-in Advanced | $39,525 | $39,525 | $0 | 0.00% |
All prices listed above exclude the Delivery, Processing, and Handling (DPH) fee.
The MSRP for the 2013 Prius, Prius v, and Prius Plug-in does not include the delivery, processing, and handling (DPH) fee of $ 760. The DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.
While beginning to get a bit pricey, the resale, savings at the pump and low maintenance costs will keep your transportation costs at a minimum for years to come vs. other far less fuel efficient offerings.

Re: 2013 Prius v, Hatch and PHEV Pricing Details
Is Toyota planning to announce Prius c price changes in a separate release? Even if there are no changes, seems odd that it would be omitted, since they bothered to mention that there wouldn't be a change on the PIP.

Re: 2013 Prius v, Hatch and PHEV Pricing Details
Hi Dan:
I am waiting for Toyota's response...
I checked with Toyota's consumer site prior to posting this and they did not have any 13's Prius family prices listed even though the prices posted above are in effect now. Now being October.

Maybe they're going to wait on the c to announce the Yaris Hybrid?

Re: 2013 Prius v, Hatch and PHEV Pricing Details
I thought the c WAS the Yaris Hybrid. And I hope they keep the price on that one reasonable , but gasoline at $3.599 here will do that , too. At least until after the election.

Re: 2013 Prius v, Hatch and PHEV Pricing Details
Anyone know what the additional dealer surcharge is these days? There have been three times in my life when I was ready to buy a hybrid, but Toyota wanted between $2,000 and $5,000 extra for the privilege of buying a car. I've never owned a Prius because I won't pay a dealer markup.

Indigo , it's possible your timing was bad. It would probably make good sense to buy a hybrid when gasoline is cheap , meaning NOW. Unless it's a Prius c , which still in short supply, it seems.

When I got my Insight, gas was relatively inexpensive compared to right now. The Toyota dealer wanted extra money. The Honda dealer sold me an Insight II for $17,588. I couldn't pass that up. And I easily get 48 MPG and I get 52 if I try hard.
