Russian Trucker Gets a Second Chance

The danger of the Russian highway

Mike Sirach - CleanMPG - Sep 24, 2012

A Russian trucker survives a potentially fatal collision and literally walks away unscathed.

A dashcam caught the horrific crash on a busy Russian highway of two trucks in a head on collision involving three trucks.

It is unknown if this truck was fitted with an odd safety feature, but some commercial Russian trucks are fitted with ejector seats. The seats are set up to eject the driver in the opposite direction from the impact force.

I'm sorry! Call me old fashioned, but give me a good seat belt and airbags any day. I'm afraid my timing would be off and at the very least, I would end up under the truck.

Two things:
1. Does everyone in Russia have a dash cam?
2. Are all the drivers in Russia insane?

Lucky a 2nd truck didn't come in and whack him. A seatbelt would have been a good idea.

Re: Russian Trucker Gets a Second Chance

Andrew I I've asked about your Q1 my russian friend some time ago - he told me that having dash cam makes shorter the process of obtaining money from insurance company.

About Q2 I don't know the answer, but I have my own opinion about that

Wild country... wild rules.

Re: Russian Trucker Gets a Second Chance

Not sure he is unscathed. Often people walk away with injuries unknown until the body calms down after the shock. Talk to anyone who has done an extended stint in the ER and they will tell you. YouTube makes everything seem fine but you and I don't really know.

Maybe, but it sure beats being smashed into pieces!
