IE 8, you're fired. IE 9.0, you’re NOT Hired
Can you say Chrome?
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Sept. 14, 2012
Google is doing it the right way as it continues to take over the world…
I have had it with IE 8. I was receiving script errors that I could not break away from for over 4 pop boxes saying "script error" ... continue running or whatever while on twitter with the 64-bit version and sometimes even the 32 bit. I was receiving adobe flash hangs with both the 32 and 64 bit versions since two Adobe flash updates ago and the CleanMPG review pic/links on the home would always override each other with a mouse over.
IE 9 is FUBAR for “Today’s Posts” only allowing you to see unanswered posts over the last 30-days.
So I am moving everything over to Google Chrome. Other than the Skype phone app grabbing a bunch of resources after ~30-minutes and me having to force kill it, chrome does everything I need plus far more.
I have been an IE user since Netscape was hot and I am sad to see it go. IE 8 32 and 64-bit versions are still short cuts on my task bar just in case some site does not work with Chrome but I will be using those two shortcuts less and less going forward.
This post was uploaded via IE 8.0 and probably the last time for it too
What the hell happened to MS anyway?

Re: IE 8, you're fired. IE 9.0, you’re NOT Hired
I usually use (and prefer) Chrome but it still sometimes has some issues with flash and java scripts, or something. Sometimes I still use Firefox. Yes, IE is a hot mess. Its on my work PC, and I tried to put up with but I eventually installed Chrome even though I'm not supposed to.
I would not count MS out. That phone OS seems compelling. I need a new PC and a new phone within the next 12 months, and I'm taking a wait & see approach for now.

Oh I've had it IE for a while, been using Firefox. I do use Tor when I want to sneak around the Internet on clandestine operations unnoticed.

I ordered up the new iPhone (with iOS 6) this morning. I still think apple's in the lead.
/i've pretty much migrated to firefox on my laptop. It just seems to work better with less hang ups than Safari.

I've been running a new HP system with IE9 very successfully ... UNTIL today, when I allowed an update to Adobe FlashPlay and got Chrome bundled with it.
Now having a wide range of interesting problems.

Never have used Chrome. I have FF v16 and love the quickness and the ability to filter out the annoying fluff, especially on Facebook.

Re: IE 8, you're fired. IE 9.0, you’re NOT Hired
I mostly use Chrome on my work PC. I used Firefox before for personal browsing, but wasn't happy with its performance. I tried Chrome when it first came out, but it initially failed to work with a lot of websites (sounds like IE9?), so I went back to Firefox and came back to Chrome after another year or two. Love it.
That said, there are some internal websites and apps I have to use regularly at work that Chrome doesn't display properly, so I have to use IE (8) for a few things.
At home on the Macbooks, we haven't taken the minor effort of downloading Chrome. Safari isn't perfect, but hasn't been bad enough for us to bother.
