2013 Kia Pro_cee’d – Pricing TBA
Kia will reveal another member of its second-generation cee’d family, the all-new pro_cee’d three-door hatch, at the upcoming Paris Auto Show later this month.
Like the all-new cee’d, the pro-cee’d was designed, engineered and will be manufactured in Europe exclusively for the European market.
Drivetrain(s)
Across most of Western Europe, the new cee’d will be available with a MPFI 1.4L and the 1.6L GDI we are all familiar with in the Rio preview and Accent review.
Also available will be the 1.6L VGT
turbo diesel delivering 126 HP and 192 lb-ft of torque and mated to a manual transmission.
New cee’d models incorporating Kia’s EcoDynamics technologies, including ISG (Start/Stop), low-rolling resistance tires and an alternator management system (AMS), with this diesel engine achieve an NEDC combined rating of 63.6 mpgUS or approximately 51 mpgUS combined on our own EPA.
Coupled with the 1.6L GDI is an all-new Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The DCT delivers smooth gear shifts for effortless shifts while lowering fuel consumption.
Safety
The all-new Kia cee'd was awarded a maximum 5-Star crash test safety rating by Europe's EuroNCAP late last month.
The five-door hatch achieved high scores for Adult Occupant Protection (89%), Child Occupant Protection (88%) and Safety Assist equipment (86%).
Pro_cee’d
The new pro_cee’d features all the technical improvements made to the cee’d five-door and cee’d Sportswagon, with a more exuberant appearance that made its predecessor so popular.
