VW July 2012 Sales up 27.3%
Passat sales hold its own with the new Beetle adding thousands to the totals.

VW July 2012 Sales Results
Volkswagen reported it sold 37,014 automobiles in July, a 27.3 percent increase over July of 2011 sales, a 34.1 percent increase year-to-date and the best July since 1973.
The Volkswagen Passat continued its relatively strong sales pace with 9,007 units sold this past July.
The Jetta sedan remains the sales leader for VW with total sales of 11,666 with the Jetta SportWagen reaching 1,963.

Top 10 Sales Leaders - Items of note: Camry moved back to number 2 from 3 with the Chevrolet Silverado. F-Series missed the 50,000 mark after four straight months of topping that milestone. Malibu sales fell of a cliff dropping to just 12,345 units and dropping off the Top 10 list hard. Escape fell from 6th to 10th.

Segment ranking items of note: In the B-Segment ranks, the Fit and Fiesta swapped positions while Yaris sales fell sharply. The C-Segment ranks did not change other than the Elantra jumping two places ahead of both the Focus and surprising quickly faltering Cruze. The D-Segment ranks saw the Malibu fall towards the bottom of the list.

VW's total sales are up 8000 units vs last year, with the Passat accounting for 6000 of that increase, while Jetta sales are down by 4000. If the new Beetle is "adding thousands", does that mean other VW models (Golf, Tiguan, Tuareg) are down too?

The rest of the VW July sales were mixed. Golf/GTI/R were up ~ 500, EOS down ~ 600, CC down ~ 800, Tiguan up ~ 600, Touareg up ~ 200 and Routan down ~ 500.
