Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Yesterday: rode around in the hills at to the bend of Danube, ate smoked trout, seen beauty but kind of no photos for now. It's still hard, to find the way to take photos while riding. To make the perfect stops, without braking and without knowing what comes. OK, it's more like impossible...
Other than that, 289.2km by Teresa, 295km by google maps, and shiNIN fueled up Ciliegia, the tank average became 2.95l/100km | 79.7 US mpg. Teresa is barely over 300km now, so it would be early.

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
No driving yesterday.
My Saturday morning "drive-creep" to Sam's and back. 73F and no wind. This has become a personal challenge. Silly but cheap entertainment. Today I challenged my self to make sure I absolutely dead stopped at stop signs, that makes them repeatable. Still haven't been honked at or flipped off so I must be doing something right.
Also kept track of max speed, which was 25 mph. Forgot the gps again but I achieved about 15-20 mph between most glides. The stop signs aren't very far apart. Believe there are 10 signs and 6 lights. Made 3 of the lights today.
The numbers are high but the best part from my perspective was the 0.1 mile hypermiler roll out in the Sam's lot. Came into the lot a bit "hot". Rolling bests regen.
Home to Sam's 4.2 mi @ 70.15 wh/mi = 478.38 MPGe
Sam's to home 4.1 mi @ 123.636 wh/m = 271.43 Mpge
"Trip" average 8.3 mi @ 96.57 wh/mi = 347.5 MPGe
Solectria rated the Force at 137 wh/mi @ 45 mph on DOT test so this isn't as overwhelming as it might look.

Re : Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Larry, Mike... how are you doing that ?
Alvaro, pretty picture
Sean, sadly I didn't have only cold 0.6mi trips... I had to experiment "normal" driving, because tight schedules and "normal passengers" not understanding why saving gas when you can buy it
Staying in S3 (Prius refusing to stop the ICE until the car is stopped 10 seconds) during 6-10mi, what a sensation.
aatg, I was hoping about a 83.33mpgUS (1000mi with 12gal) tank during my first Prius tank. Now I'm only dreaming about beating my Megane's results...
Today: Tank: 928mi @ 66.8mpgUS (-0.4). Last square before idiot light...
Coming back home this morning, I heard strange noises from my car during a roundabout at the moment the ICE restarted. No light on the dash. I stopped, looked under the car, under the hood, engines codes through SG2. I pushed down the accelerator to start the ICE and made it turn at different rpm during one minute. No strange noise. I restarted lightly. Accelerated. Took another round about. Drove back to home. No strange noise... Looked at the car once again : nothing strange. Much later, drove a 1.2mi round trip : no strange noise.
Hope it was something that knocked under the car and detached.
Anyway, next week I start again to hypermile and have fun
Have fun,
Denis.

Sometimes our best seems woefully inadequate... until we consider what someone else who wouldn't try at all would get in such circumstances!

Drove to Chuck E Cheese's for dinner and wearing out the kids time.
83F, 2mph wind from the NNW, sunny:
- 6.2mpk over 7.1mi --> 208.1 MPGe (Home to restaurant -- no AC)
We'll see if I can drive slower on the way home or not.

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Since I had not driven the Insight since Wednesday, I went for a little cruise; the route (most of it) I would take from home to the fuel station I'll need to go to...in about 3 months. Temperature was 82F and wind was SW@ <5 mph.
129.0 10.0-to Nappanee
148.5 10.0-back home
Day Total: 138.1mpg over 20 miles.

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Way to make it count, Larry!
Mike... that's just ridiculous. At least (if my math is right) the EPA rated your Solectria at 7.3mpk... which I've been averaging at or higher for my work commute RT.
We had to make a stop at Target on the way home and I did get to drive slower.
80F, no wind, clear (with headlights on):
- 7.4mpk over 1.6mi --> 248.3 MPGe (Restaurant to Target)
- 7.1mpk over 7.7mi --> 238.3 MPGe (Target to home)
Day Total: 6.7mpk over 16.4mi --> 224.9 MPGe
Tot. Use: 2.4 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.37

I do what I can.
Some pretty nice numbers there Sean! My new goal will be to try and hit, at the very least, 50% of your daily MPGe.
