A 2013 Nissan Sentra sneak peek – LED DRL accents on the R? Nice!
The upcoming Sentra celebrates its 30th anniversary in the U.S. and is the third of five all-new Nissan models being launched this year. Nissan is saying the all-new Sentra will bring a new level of refinement and innovation to the compact segment with more details released later this summer.
In preps for the release, Nissan is adding production to its Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant near Jackson, MS beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. The addition of Sentra amongst to the facilities current production mix will create 1,000 new jobs with the Canton workforce going from almost 3,300 to more than 4,500 in short order.
Production of the all-new Sentra will also take place at Nissan's plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico, where the model is currently produced.
Nissan's Canton Assembly Plant is a $2 Billion, 3.5-million square-foot facility located on 1,400 acres just outside of Jackson, MS. In addition to future Sentra production, Canton currently builds the all-new 2013 Nissan Altima, Armada full-size SUV, Titan full-size pickup and NV commercial vans.
The mid-size 2013 Nissan Altima is a stunner in terms of fuel economy (27/38 mpgUS city/highway), value (just $21,500 to start) and performance (a true 7 second car). We are expecting similar things from the upcoming 2013 Sentra and knowing Nissan operations; it is going to be one hell of a fall season for the makers of the LEAF
