What's your primary internet tool?
While desktops are still going to be with us, their share is declining.
I'm on a notebook and expect to for another three years or however long it takes for that kind of power to affordably come to tablets.
On the poll question: I know a lot of us use several devices - pick the one used the most.

Re: What's your primary internet tool?
I'm a touch typist and there is NO WAY I am going giving up a physical, tactile keyboard. Ever. My iPhone is fine for carrying around with me, but for serious text entry it's gotta be a laptop.

Re: What's your primary internet tool?
I use a laptop at work mainly and a desktop at home sometimes but for checking forums I'm usually on my iPod Touch unless, like Wri, I need to do a bit of typing then give me a proper keyboard anytime! I find copying and pasting text much easier with a mouse and Ctrl keys!

Re: What's your primary internet tool?
Desktop. It's the only device I reach the web. Interesting, I consider myself quite net-dependent, yet I don't really feel the need when I'm not at home or work. And it's good this way, mobile accesses are ridiculously limited here (like a few gigs of traffic per month, and they're not even cheap, by far).

I went to a laptop in 1999 and I have never looked back.

Re: What's your primary internet tool?
I'm thinking about going to a laptop too, it's more convenient and free. Problem is that I play games too, and half-serious graphic hardware (entry level to mid range) is much more expensive in a laptop than in desktop. And from the point there's gaming hardware in a laptop, its energy efficiency falls closer to desktop levels too. And I don't want to maintain more rigs, let alone upload my stuff on a home server which would be a waste of energy, IMHO. So I'm stuck with a desktop. At least it's more efficient than the last one, and the next one will be even more efficient. Still not a laptop, but going in the right direction. Except if I find a laptop with sufficient storage and graphics, for a price rivaling a home-brew desktop (I always build my own). My chances are slim.

Laptop at work, desktop at home. Desktop is cheaper.

Re: What's your primary internet tool?
Laptop all the way for anything productive, love the mobility. I have a real monitor, keyboard and mouse I plug into at home. Apple TV and iPad for video entertainment. iPhone is OK when I am on the move but mostly don't use it for too much more than calls, txts reading emails and occasional directions.

I touch type too, and there is NO WAY I am going to give a desktop keyboard. Laptop keys are too flat, not tactile enough. They'll do in a pinch, but barely.
