7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
Despite safety concerns, the model has been selling well, and from 2007 to 2011 Dodge sold more than 100,000 trucks each year. Read more: The Most Dangerous Cars in America - 24/7 Wall St. http://247

Why do people say subcompacts are dangerous when only one was on this list and the other six are light trucks? --Ed.
Though Dodge has been offering the half-ton Ram 1500 since 1981, its safety track record has long been unimpressive. From 1998 through 2001, the truck received failing marks from IIHS in frontal offset tests, and was rated poor in protecting heads and left legs, as well as in restraining the crash test dummy. Though frontal offset ratings have since received good ratings from the IIHS, the vehicles side-impact and rollover ratings remain substandard. Curiously, it was the opposite in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tests. The agency found fault with the Rams performance on frontal impact tests but not with side impact tests.... Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
This is just based on crash test data...the most dangerous cars by fatalities are typically cheap sports cars, e.g. old Camaros.

Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
I don't even think that the old Camaro's are inherently unsafe vehicles. Their problem is that they're cheap & fast. Cheap enough to be able to be purchased by young first time drivers that don't have the experience or the sense to know when they're driving beyond their skill level.

Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
It all depends on the driver. Even guys with high end cars can do stupid things and get in trouble.

Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
As far as the behavior of its typical drivers is concerned, Dodge Ram easily makes MY list of 7 most dangerous cars in America.

I see accidents reported regularly in the Dallas area of a pickup rollover with occupant ejected...sounds like no seatbelts and reckless driving.

Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
The Lexus RX series should be way up there. Their drivers typically do very rude and dangerous things.

Re: 7 Most Dangerous Cars in America
I vote for middle-aged Mustangs (as well as the aforementioned Camaros), noisy old Civics & CRXs outfitted with goofy oversized tailpipes, most gigantic S(tupid) U(gly) V(ehicle)s, and pickups of any brand with insecurely attached ladders on top. Small-time contractors in such trucks often seem to be in just as much hurry as the guys in Camaros.
